Practical guide: Arriving at CDG with children: car seats, luggage and where the chauffeur meets you
Paris-Charles de Gaulle covers more than 3,200 hectares and has three terminals, with Terminal 2 divided into seven halls. For a traveller stepping off a long-haul flight, tired and with two suitcases, knowing where to go makes a considerable difference. This guide walks through the CDG terminals and how your private chauffeur meets you there. All Precellence chauffeurs are English-speaking.
The CDG system at a glance
CDG comprises 3 terminals (T1, T2, T3), with T2 subdivided into 7 halls (2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2G). The terminals are linked by the CDGVAL, a free automated shuttle train.
In every terminal, chauffeurs with a booking wait for their clients in the arrivals hall, sign in hand; taxis have their own ranks outside. Before pick-up, you receive your chauffeur’s name, number plate and direct phone number by message (WhatsApp or email): a single call is enough to find each other.
Terminal 1
Circular-shaped terminal, recognisable by its central ring and its satellites. It serves many international airlines: check your terminal on your boarding pass.
- Arrivals exit: arrivals hall, at the exit of the baggage claim area
- Precellence meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
- CDGVAL access: Terminal 1 has its own station, accessible via moving walkways from the central hall.
Terminal 2A & 2C
Twin halls, connected to each other. The airlines using them change from season to season: check your hall on your boarding pass.
- Arrivals exit: arrivals area of your hall
- Meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
Terminal 2B & 2D
Twin halls. Here too, check your hall on your boarding pass.
- Arrivals exit: level 0
- Meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
Terminal 2E & 2F
The busiest halls, at the heart of the Air France hub (the airline operates from halls 2E, 2F and 2G). 2E is subdivided into three boarding areas: K, L and M.
- Arrivals exit: arrivals area of your hall, at the exit of the baggage claim area
- Precellence meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
- Specific note: these halls are very large. No later than 2 hours before pick-up, you receive your chauffeur’s name, number plate and direct phone number by message (WhatsApp or email): a single call is enough to find each other.
Terminal 2G
Small hall used notably by Air France, separate from the rest of Terminal 2 and linked to it by a free shuttle.
- Arrivals exit: arrivals hall
- Meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
Terminal 3
The smallest of CDG’s three terminals.
- Arrivals exit: arrivals hall
- Meeting point: your chauffeur waits for you at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name
- CDGVAL access: Terminal 3 is linked to the other terminals by the CDGVAL
Business aviation — Le Bourget & FBO CDG
For private jet or business aviation arrivals, the meeting point is different:
- Le Bourget (LFPB): your chauffeur waits for you in your FBO’s lounge. Let us know which one at booking.
- FBO at CDG: give the name of your FBO at booking.
The Precellence welcome protocol in every terminal
For every terminal, the standard is identical:
- 15 min before scheduled landing: your chauffeur is on site
- No later than 2 hours before pick-up: you receive your chauffeur’s name, number plate and direct phone number by message (WhatsApp or email)
- As soon as you exit baggage claim: the chauffeur is waiting with a name sign (or with an anonymous name if you prefer for discretion)
- Systematic baggage assistance, mineral water on board, USB-C/Lightning chargers, Wi-Fi
- 60 min of waiting time included after landing (flight tracking included)
What if I cannot find my chauffeur?
If you have any difficulty:
- Call the chauffeur directly — their direct number is sent to you before pick-up. They will describe their position and come to meet you.
- Message us on WhatsApp at +33 7 69 70 00 20 — during the day, our team puts you in touch with your chauffeur.
Your chauffeur’s direct number remains your first port of call: they are on site and will come to meet you.
Summary
In every terminal, the principle is the same: your chauffeur waits for you in the arrivals hall, at the exit of the baggage claim area, with a sign bearing your name. Their direct number is sent to you before pick-up: a single call is enough to find each other.
