Where does the chauffeur wait when the Eurostar arrives?
Coming from London, border checks take place at the departure station: at Paris Gare du Nord you step off the train and leave the platform with no further check. Your chauffeur waits with a name sign at the exit agreed with them; the car is parked near the main forecourt, on the rue de Dunkerque side. Stopping around the station is tightly regulated, so the exact spot depends on your train and the traffic. You receive the chauffeur's name and phone number no later than 1 hour before pick-up. If you cannot see the sign when you leave the platform, call your chauffeur: they will come to you and help with your luggage to the car.
My train is late: how long will the chauffeur wait?
Give us your train number when booking: your chauffeur works to the actual arrival time, at no extra cost if the train is late. At stations, the first 30 minutes of waiting are free; after that, waiting is charged at the hourly rate for the class booked (€95/h in an E-Class), per hour or part hour, up to 90 minutes. That is usually enough time to walk from a carriage at the back of the train with suitcases. If you are travelling with a lot of luggage, children or someone with reduced mobility, an agent can meet you on the platform itself as you step off the train: this is the station Meet & Greet, booked separately.
Leaving by Eurostar: what time should I get to Gare du Nord?
Eurostar closes ticket checks 30 minutes before departure for Standard and Plus, and asks you to be ready to board 10 minutes before departure at Paris Gare du Nord. Between those two steps come security and passport checks, and the wait there depends on how busy the station is. Plan to be dropped off at least an hour before departure, more on a Friday evening or during school holidays. Give us the train time when booking: we agree the pick-up time with you based on your address and the traffic, and your chauffeur arrives 15 minutes before the agreed time. Drop-off is as close to the entrance as the authorised stopping areas allow.
Getting from Gare du Nord to CDG or Orly with luggage
Many travellers arrive from London by Eurostar and then fly on. By private car, the trip has no changes and your bags stay in the boot: €115 to CDG and €95 to Orly in an E-Class, €159 to CDG in a V-Class, per vehicle. Allow about 35 to 45 minutes to CDG, longer at rush hour, and add the check-in time your airline asks for. Prices are fixed, tolls and fuel included, with no surcharge at night, at weekends or on public holidays. For a tight connection, give us both the train arrival time and the flight time when booking: your chauffeur waits at the platform exit, and 30 minutes of waiting stay free if the train is late.
