Private chauffeur in Val Thorens, by the day or by the week
At 2,300 m, in a car-free resort, a chauffeur is not for getting around Val Thorens: it is for getting out, and back. Precellence puts a dedicated private chauffeur and a Mercedes E-Class, 7-seat V-Class or S-Class at your disposal by the day from €750 (VAT included) or by the week from €3,900, the same chauffeur for the whole stay. English always, your language on request.
At 2,300 metres a chauffeur is not for getting around: it is for getting out, and back
Val Thorens is a car-free resort, the highest in Europe, at the top of the Belleville valley. You ski almost from the door, which is exactly why a chauffeur changes the week: Les Menuires and Saint-Martin for the day, dinner down the valley, Courchevel or Méribel via Moûtiers, back whenever you like.
Val Thorens is booked on request: your chauffeur goes there with you and stays for the whole stay, with a Mercedes E-Class, a 7-seat V-Class or an S-Class. He drops you outside your chalet or hotel, parks the car in a car park booked in advance, and comes back at the agreed time. By the week means six days of ten hours, Saturday to Saturday, at a published price.
It is also the most international resort in France: more than six visitors in ten come from abroad. You book with our team in Paris, in French, English or Arabic, and find the same chauffeur every morning, from the first day to the last.
From Moûtiers up to 2,300 metres, the climb is our job
In Savoie the French mountain law requires 3PMSF winter tyres or chains on board from 1 November to 31 March: our cars carry both. The thirty-three kilometres from Moûtiers to Val Thorens climb to the very top of the valley, and snow comes early in the season; our chauffeurs set the departure time by the weather and by peak Saturdays, when the climb can take an hour.
Heading into the mountains with a chauffeur you have not met yet: here is, in writing, what is on board and who is driving.
- Approved winter or all-season tyres (3PMSF marking)
- Snow chains on board
- Child seats and booster seats fitted before you arrive (requested at booking)
- First-aid kit
- Blankets and water on board
- A chauffeur used to driving on snow
- A vehicle tracked in real time by our team
A typical day with your chauffeur in Val Thorens
- Children at ski school, skiers on the slopes from the door: no chauffeur needed yet, and that is fine.
- Those who do not ski go down to Les Menuires or Saint-Martin-de-Belleville for the morning.
- Lunch down the valley, then back up to the resort early in the afternoon.
- Skiers collected at the bottom of the slopes, skis in the boot, back to the chalet.
- Dinner at La Bouitte in Saint-Martin, or further afield in Méribel, then the night drive back up on snow, chains on board.
A ten-hour day; beyond that, the "dinner run" option (three hours) at the published price below.
Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Saint-Martin, Méribel, Courchevel: where your chauffeur takes you
Val Thorens, the resort
Car-free: a few minutes' stop outside the chalet or hotel, then the car goes to a car park booked at least seven days ahead, at the right height for a V-Class.
Koh-I Nor · Altapura · Pashmina (5-star)
Les Menuires and Saint-Martin-de-Belleville
Lower down the same valley: the village of Saint-Martin and La Bouitte, René and Maxime Meilleur's restaurant.
Les Menuires · Saint-Martin-de-Belleville · La Bouitte
Méribel and Courchevel via Moûtiers
The next valley: allow 1h15 to 1h30 to Courchevel with snow. A day's skiing elsewhere in the 3 Valleys, or a dinner, mileage included.
A longer season
Val Thorens is among the first resorts to open and the last to close: the resort for the start and the end of the season, when others have not yet opened or have already closed.
Opens 21 November 2026 · closes 2 May 2027

Your language, on request
A chauffeur who speaks your language, or on the contrary a discreet chauffeur who does not speak it, as you prefer; English always.
All our chauffeurs speak French and English. Another language is requested at booking, 48 hours ahead, at no extra cost and subject to availability: we confirm in writing what we can honour rather than promise it. For a large family, a 7-seat V-Class for the children and an S-Class for the parents, the second vehicle at 10% off, a single WhatsApp thread.
Winter 2026-27: Val Thorens opens on 21 November 2026 and closes on 2 May 2027 (provisional dates announced by the resort). Give us your dates and we confirm in writing the availability of a car and a chauffeur.
Six promises, in writing
Someone is waiting for you
A name board at the airport, station or altiport; your flight is tracked and the chauffeur waits if it is late.
A WhatsApp thread
Timings, changes of plan, dinner at 9.30 pm: one message is enough, for the whole stay.
Child seats fitted
Requested at booking, fitted and checked before you get in, never "forgotten".
The vehicle you booked
The 7-seat V-Class you reserved is the one that collects you, not another model.
A chauffeur named in advance
His name and number reach you before the first pick-up; you find him again every morning.
Winter driving
Winter tyres, chains on board, careful driving on snow and ice: the road up to the resort is our job.
What your week includes
- 6 days of 10 hours, Saturday to Saturday, with the same chauffeur from the first day to the last

- Fuel, tolls, mileage in resort and to neighbouring resorts, waiting time: all included
- 2 child seats and 1 infant seat supplied and fitted before you arrive (requested at booking)
- Four 3PMSF winter tyres and chains on board, as required by the French mountain law (1 November – 31 March)
- You receive the chauffeur's name and phone number no later than 2 hours before pick-up. A WhatsApp thread with our team for the whole stay.

Frequently asked questions — Private chauffeur Val Thorens
Do I need a car in Val Thorens?
No, and it would rather get in the way: the resort is car-free, street parking is banned from 15 November to 15 May, car parks must be booked at least seven days ahead and some are too low for a V-Class. A chauffeur, yes: he drops you outside your chalet or hotel, parks the car and takes you to Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville or Courchevel whenever you decide.
How much does a private driver cost per day and per week in Val Thorens?
A 10-hour day costs from €750 (VAT included) in an E-Class, €1,050 in a 7-seat V-Class and €1,550 in an S-Class. The Saturday-to-Saturday week (6 days of 10 hours, same chauffeur) from €3,900, €5,400 and €7,800. The 3-hour dinner run from €285. Prices per vehicle, with fuel, tolls, mileage in resort and waiting included; winter 2026-27 rates confirmed in writing on quote.
Can we go out for dinner in Saint-Martin, Méribel or Courchevel?
Yes. Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and La Bouitte, René and Maxime Meilleur's restaurant, are on the valley road; Méribel and Courchevel are in the next valley, via Moûtiers (allow 1 h 15 – 1 h 30 to Courchevel with snow). Within the 10-hour day, or with the dinner run option (3 hours) from €285 for a closer dinner: the chauffeur waits and drives you back.
Are transfers from Lyon, Chambéry, Geneva or Moûtiers included?
They are added at the published price: Lyon airport ↔ Val Thorens from €520 in an E-Class (€710 in a V-Class, €930 in an S-Class), Chambéry airport from €360 (110 – 122 km, 1 h 45 – 2 h). At Geneva airport (205 km, 2 h 50 – 3 h in winter), pick-up is on request, to be confirmed at booking. Moûtiers station (33 km, 40 min – 45 min, up to an hour on a peak Saturday) is quoted on request.
Are you available from the opening, in November?
Val Thorens opens on 21 November 2026 and closes on 2 May 2027 (provisional dates announced by the resort), among the first resorts to open and the last to close. Val Thorens is booked on request: give us your dates and we confirm in writing the availability of a car and a chauffeur, who goes there with you and stays for the whole stay. For Christmas, from 19 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 we bill a 3-day minimum.
Which vehicle for a family with skis and children?
The Mercedes V-Class: up to 7 passengers, a large boot for skis, boots and pushchairs. 2 child seats and 1 infant seat are supplied and fitted before you arrive, on request at booking; for a group of 8 to 15 with nannies, the second vehicle (E-Class or S-Class) gets 10% off.
Which language does the chauffeur speak, and are the cars winter-equipped?
All our chauffeurs speak French and English. Your language, on request: a chauffeur who speaks your language (Arabic, Russian…) or, on the contrary, a discreet chauffeur who does not understand it, as you prefer; to be requested at booking, 48 hours ahead, at no extra cost and subject to availability. We confirm in writing what we can honour, we never promise it lightly. Every car runs on four 3PMSF winter tyres with chains on board, as the French mountain law requires in Savoie from 1 November to 31 March.
