Private chauffeur in Val d'Isère and Tignes, by the day or by the week
In winter Val d'Isère sits at the end of a dead-end road: you come up via Bourg-Saint-Maurice, and once up there nobody wants to drive. Precellence puts a dedicated private chauffeur and a Mercedes E-Class, 7-seat V-Class or S-Class at your disposal in Val d'Isère and Tignes, by the day from €750 (VAT included) or by the week from €3,900. English always, your language on request.
At the end of the road, once up there nobody wants to drive
In winter the Col de l'Iseran is closed: Val d'Isère has a single road, the one that climbs from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. You arrive after the train or the plane and spend the week between La Daille, the village and Le Fornet, with Tignes next door. The chauffeur does everything the shuttles do not: the station, Tignes at the time you choose, dinner, the way home.
Val d'Isère and Tignes are booked on request: your chauffeur goes there with you and stays for the whole stay, with a Mercedes E-Class, a 7-seat V-Class or an S-Class. The same chauffeur from Saturday to Saturday, six days of ten hours, at a published price.
British visitors are by far Val d'Isère's first foreign clientele, more than four visitors in ten according to the tourist office (2021-22 season): families, groups of friends, whole chalets. A 7-seat V-Class with skis, boots and luggage, the same chauffeur every morning, a WhatsApp thread with our team: that is what they find here.
One road in winter: knowing it is our job
In Savoie the French mountain law requires 3PMSF winter tyres or chains on board from 1 November to 31 March: our cars carry both. Between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Val d'Isère the road climbs for some thirty kilometres and it is the only winter access; our chauffeurs follow road conditions, set the departure time by the snow and would rather leave early than arrive late.
Heading into the mountains with a chauffeur you have not met yet: here is, in writing, what is on board and who is driving.
- Approved winter or all-season tyres (3PMSF marking)
- Snow chains on board
- Child seats and booster seats fitted before you arrive (requested at booking)
- First-aid kit
- Blankets and water on board
- A chauffeur used to driving on snow
- A vehicle tracked in real time by our team
A typical day with your chauffeur in Val d'Isère
- Leave the chalet, child seats fitted, skis in the boot.
- Drop-off at ski school in the village or in La Daille; the adults head for Tignes.
- Lunch in Tignes, at Le Lac or Val Claret, the chauffeur nearby.
- Back to Le Fornet for the afternoon, or to the chalet for the little ones.
- Dinner in La Daille or in the village, then home on snowy roads, chains on board.
A ten-hour day; beyond that, the "dinner run" option (three hours) at the published price below.
La Daille, the village, Le Fornet, Tignes: where your chauffeur takes you
Val d'Isère, the village
A pedestrian feel, car-free evenings in high season, a low-ceilinged central car park to book: your chauffeur knows the drop-off points and spares you all of that.
Airelles Val d'Isère · the village · Le Fornet
La Daille and Le Fornet
At either end of the resort: La Daille at the entrance, Le Fornet at the head of the valley. Journeys between the two are included in the day.

Your language, on request
A chauffeur who speaks your language, or on the contrary a discreet chauffeur who does not speak it, as you prefer; English always.
All our chauffeurs speak French and English. Another language is requested at booking, 48 hours ahead, at no extra cost and subject to availability: we confirm in writing what we can honour rather than promise it. For a whole chalet, a 7-seat V-Class and a second vehicle at 10% off, a single WhatsApp thread.
Winter 2026-27: Val d'Isère opens on 28 November 2026 and closes on 2 May 2027 (provisional dates announced by the resort). The Critérium de la Première Neige, a World Cup race, is announced for 12 and 13 December 2026 (provisional calendar); British half-term, 15 to 19 February 2027, is peak time.
Six promises, in writing
Someone is waiting for you
A name board at the airport, station or altiport; your flight is tracked and the chauffeur waits if it is late.
A WhatsApp thread
Timings, changes of plan, dinner at 9.30 pm: one message is enough, for the whole stay.
Child seats fitted
Requested at booking, fitted and checked before you get in, never "forgotten".
The vehicle you booked
The 7-seat V-Class you reserved is the one that collects you, not another model.
A chauffeur named in advance
His name and number reach you before the first pick-up; you find him again every morning.
Winter driving
Winter tyres, chains on board, careful driving on snow and ice: the road up to the resort is our job.
What your week includes

- 2 child seats and 1 infant seat supplied and fitted before you arrive (requested at booking)
- Four 3PMSF winter tyres and chains on board, as required by the French mountain law (1 November – 31 March)
- You receive the chauffeur's name and phone number no later than 2 hours before pick-up. A WhatsApp thread with our team for the whole stay.

Frequently asked questions — Private chauffeur Val d'Isère
Do I need a car in Val d'Isère?
Not in the resort: the village is pedestrian at heart, evenings are car-free in high season and the central car park, with a low ceiling, has to be booked. A chauffeur, yes: to come up from Bourg-Saint-Maurice, spend the day in Tignes, have dinner in La Daille or Le Fornet and get home without looking for a space.
How much does a private driver cost per day and per week in Val d'Isère?
A 10-hour day costs from €750 (VAT included) in an E-Class, €1,050 in a 7-seat V-Class and €1,550 in an S-Class. The Saturday-to-Saturday week (6 days of 10 hours, same chauffeur) from €3,900, €5,400 and €7,800. The 3-hour dinner run from €285. Prices per vehicle, with fuel, tolls, mileage in resort and waiting included; winter 2026-27 rates confirmed in writing on quote.
Can we arrive by train in Bourg-Saint-Maurice?
Yes: Bourg-Saint-Maurice station, the terminus of the Eurostar ski train from London (on Saturdays, from 19 December 2026 to 20 February 2027), is 30 – 35 km from Val d'Isère, 40 min – 45 min by road. Your chauffeur waits outside the station with a name board, then stays with you for the whole stay; the journey is quoted on request.
Can we do Tignes and Val d'Isère on the same day?
Yes: Tignes is 14 – 18 km from Val d'Isère, 20 min – 30 min by road; Le Lac, Val Claret, Tignes 1800 and Les Brévières are within the 10-hour day, mileage included. Tignes in the morning, Le Fornet in the afternoon, dinner in La Daille: your chauffeur knows the road and the snow timetable.
Are transfers from Lyon, Chambéry or Geneva included?
They are added at the published price: Lyon airport ↔ Val d'Isère from €570 in an E-Class (€780 in a V-Class, €1,020 in an S-Class; 223 km, 2 h 40 – 3 h), Chambéry airport from €440. At Geneva airport (180 – 225 km, 3 h 10 – 3 h 20, up to 4 hours in February), pick-up is on request, to be confirmed at booking.
Which language does the chauffeur speak, and are the cars winter-equipped?
All our chauffeurs speak French and English. Your language, on request: a chauffeur who speaks your language (Arabic, Russian…) or, on the contrary, a discreet chauffeur who does not understand it, as you prefer; to be requested at booking, 48 hours ahead, at no extra cost and subject to availability. We confirm in writing what we can honour, we never promise it lightly. Every car runs on four 3PMSF winter tyres with chains on board, as the French mountain law requires in Savoie from 1 November to 31 March.
When should I book: the December World Cup, Christmas, February half-term?
Early. The Critérium de la Première Neige, a World Cup race, is announced for 12 and 13 December 2026 (provisional calendar); from 19 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 we bill a 3-day minimum; and the British half-term week, 15 to 19 February 2027, is peak time in a resort whose first foreign clientele is British. Winter 2026-27: opening on 28 November 2026, closing on 2 May 2027 (provisional dates).
