Can I travel with my dog or cat in a chauffeur-driven car?
Short answer
Yes, at Precellence Service pets are accepted: tell us when you book. Depending on its size and how dangerous it may be, the animal travels in a crate or in its carrier. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are always accepted, with no extra charge: that is the law. No rule, on the other hand, obliges a VTC (private hire car) to take a pet.
In detail
Give the species, size and number of animals in the booking notes or in your quote request; for a large dog, a V-Class offers more room. Bring a blanket or a seat cover: the car has to stay clean for the next passengers.
Guide and assistance dogs: article 88 of the French law of 30 July 1987 guarantees their access to transport and forbids any extra charge. Even a taxi, which may refuse an animal, cannot refuse a guide or assistance dog.
For London, a dog can travel neither in the cabin of a commercial flight nor on Eurostar, unless it is an assistance dog: going by car on Le Shuttle is then the simple answer. At the airport, your chauffeur meets you with a name sign and the first 60 minutes are free, time enough to collect your pet.
