How to travel from Paris to London with a dog?

Short answer

By car, on the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle: Eurostar only accepts guide and assistance dogs, and commercial flights into Great Britain carry pets as cargo only. Your dog stays with you in the car during the crossing. With a chauffeur, Paris to London costs €1,650 in an E-Class and €2,320 in a V-Class, Eurotunnel and tolls included.

In detail

To enter Great Britain, your dog must be microchipped, vaccinated against rabies at least 21 days earlier, and have an EU pet passport or an animal health certificate; a vet must also give a tapeworm treatment between 24 hours and 5 days before arrival, with the date and time recorded.

At Calais, the Pet Reception check, open day and night, is compulsory before boarding; Le Shuttle charges a fee per animal, shown in your quote, and accepts up to 5 animals per vehicle. Your chauffeur builds that time into the trip, which takes about 5 hours 30 minutes.

On the way back, a Great Britain resident entering the European Union needs an animal health certificate (AHC) issued less than 10 days before travel: since 22 April 2026, EU pet passports can no longer be used by GB residents. For long-distance trips, 48 hours' notice is recommended.
