Children

Can a child travel alone with a private chauffeur?

Short answer

Yes, within the law: no French rule forbids a minor from travelling alone in a VTC (private hire car). We accept these trips on three conditions: written consent from a parent, the name of the adult who meets the child on arrival, and phone numbers that can be reached throughout the journey.

In detail

In your quote request, give the child's age, the pick-up and drop-off addresses, the name of the adult handing the child over to the chauffeur and that of the adult meeting them. On arrival, the child is handed over only to the named adult, who shows an identity document. The price is confirmed in writing before you pay.

Under 10, the child travels in a suitable car seat or booster: it is compulsory in a VTC, and we provide it free of charge. The child sits in the back. The chauffeur can be reached throughout the ride, and before the ride you receive their name, the number plate and their direct phone number.

For a child flying alone, airlines run an unaccompanied-minor service: our greeter can be the adult designated for the arrival, then the chauffeur drives the child to the agreed address.
